Growing Apple Mint Variegated
Growing up to 80cm in summer at full height, Variegated Apple Mint then drops off to about 4 cm during it’s winter phase. Like most mints it sends out runners late summer and into autumn, as its mature leaves start to die or accumulate rust. Put it in a scraggly corner of your garden and let it ramble. Likes reasonable moisture, and rather than drooping as many plants do when starved of moisture, it simply starts to go brown and die. Don’t over fertilise, like many herbs the flavor seems more intense when grown in poorer soil.
